Public-i usergroup on 21st of June: #NetworkedCllr and webcasting

By June 7, 2013One Comment

With our next usergroup less than a fortnight away it’s high time we told you more about our plans for it.

Just to confirm. it’s on the 21st of June at the Hallam Conference Centre, near Great Portland Street Tube station. You can find the details and address here.

We’ll be starting the day with the usual conversations about webcasting, including a run-through of the development roadmap and questions to Dr Lewis on all maters technical. We’re also hoping to tell you about one or two really interesting case studies to do with webcasting.

As I think we said before, the afternoon will be about Networked Councillor, the research project we’ve been running with the East of England LGA to identify how councillors should be equipped for a networked world.

The research project culminated in a report, which for the last few weeks has been in beta, so people can make comments on it. Please, please read it here.

It will be a great opportunity to learn more about how councillors can become networked, what it means to be a networked councillor and how it will fit in with webcasting (and it very much, I promise, does).

With that in mind, we’d be keen to hear from councillors who are interested in coming along and talking about the report – and what it’s like using social media tools to network with residents. As I said on the Networked Councillor blog, you can talk face-to-face with its author, our CEO, Catherine Howe, as well as a host of other folk that are thinking about what this all means.

If you’re not already coming, please give us a call on 01273 821 282 or email jane.purcell@public-i.info. Anything else you’d like to find out about the event please comment below and I’ll be back to you as soon as possible.
