I was lucky enough to be running a Solace (Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers) masterclass earlier this week looking at the impact of the network society. I didn’t want it to be a session about technology as I don’t think that really gets to the heart of the challenge around social media and frankly if you have not started using this stuff by now its unlikely to be the lack of skills that’s the reason – it’s going to be the lack of a purpose. You need to feel it’s relevant.
The session was really focused around this question of relevance as well as talking about how start thinking about internal cultural change that is needed to respond to the growth in network behaviour across all demographics.
